Costing Specialist

Title:                     Costing Specialist 

Status:                  Non-Exempt


The Costing Specialist performs costing of garments that come to Engineering for bids, etc., and will be manufactured by Superior Uniform Group in onshore or Central American contractor factories. This role is responsible for producing numerous reports and completing special projects that have to do with costing or materials. 


  • Calculates cost of garments (to include samples, specs, change to stock, embroidery, screen print, and alterations) from Design and Client Services Departments, by using pre-set rate codes, or by completing research to determine the appropriate rate.
  • Ensures that samples supplied for costing are sewn accurately as they are expected to be manufactured in the factories.
  • Reviews the samples and the costing for accuracy before new styles are loaded.
  • Answers costing and construction questions from sales and marketing support.
  • Completes various projects as assigned.
  • Completes other duties/responsibilities as assigned.


Knowledge and experience

  • 3+ years of experience with garment costing required
  • Detailed understanding of garment construction
  • Strong math skills
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Web Browsing and E-mail
  • SAP experience preferred, but not required


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
