Superior Uniform Group, Inc.®, (NASDAQ: SGC), designer and manufacturer of uniforms and image apparel was selected as a winner of two 2013 North-American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors (NAUMD) Image of the Year Awards.
Nominated for seven Image of the Year Awards in six categories, Superior Uniform Group brought home top honors in two categories; the Entertainment category for the Delaware North Companies (DNC) Sportservice image apparel program at Lambeau Field and the Retail Establishments category for the Price Chopper image apparel program.
“We are honored to have received two Image of the Year awards and we are even more proud to have received our seven nominations across six categories,” said Superior Uniform Group’s CEO, Michael Benstock. “Superior Uniform Group’s unwavering objective for all of our customers is to provide innovative uniform apparel that enhances a company’s image and strengthens their brand.”
The DNC Sportservice image apparel program includes a mix of high performance fabrics, a strong color palette and athletic-inspired designs to achieve a first-class, yet functional look. The Lambeau Field logo is featured throughout all coordinating designs to further enhance the facility’s brand. The food service employees are outfitted in an easy care, easy-to-wear graphite and black pique knit shirt, poly/cotton black pants, and waist aprons. Managers are outfitted in light blue button-down fineline twill shirts, available in both Men’s and Ladies’ styles for a personalized fit. The image apparel program keeps DNC Sportservice concessions employees at Lambeau Field looking good, while maintaining their ability to stay on top of their game.
Delaware North Companies is one of the largest and most admired privately held hospitality companies in the world. Founded and owned by the Jacobs family for nearly 100 years, it is a global leader in hospitality and food service. DNC’s family of companies service sports arenas, parks & resorts, gaming & entertainment and travel hospitality.
The Price Chopper image apparel program is a full-store, department-specific uniform program. The combination of stock fabrics and custom dyed garments featuring the Price Chopper logo provided the supermarket chain with a unique look for each department. Such color-coded image apparel allows both store managers and customers to quickly and easily identify which teammates work in designated areas. Superior Uniform Group selected the athletic and waffle fabrics to wick perspiration away from the body to ensure all day comfort. The image apparel program provides comfort, appeal and value in an array of custom garments that boost brand and teammate recognition within Price Chopper supermarkets.
Based in Schenectady, NY, the Golub Corporation owns and operates 130 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The American owned, family-managed company prides itself on longstanding traditions of innovative food merchandising, leadership in community service, and cooperative employee relations. Golub’s 22,000 teammates collectively own more than 50 percent of the company’s privately held stock, making it one of the nation’s largest privately held corporations that is predominantly employee-owned.
