DISTRIBUTION

In the early 1990’s, Superior developed groundbreaking technology for apparel distribution. Our 218,000 sq. ft. distribution center is a state-of-the-art facility centrally positioned in Eudora, Arkansas, an ideal location for timely nationwide and worldwide fulfillment.

We Invest In The Best
Superior initially invested over $11 million in 1994 to obtain the automation required to create our highly advanced warehouse and distribution center.  It includes a 90,000 sq. ft. robotic warehouse, which employs sophisticated technologies such as tilt tray sorters, a vision system, robotic cranes and conveyors.  It is a flexible environment that allows us to achieve rapid turnaround, and to efficiently ship orders of any size.

We ship ten's of millions of uniforms every year that make up hundreds of thousands of Customer orders.  We also have smaller sales offices and/or distribution locations in Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; and Tampa, Florida.

In 2004, we upgraded all of our firmware for our robotic cranes and upgraded our material handling equipment in order to properly prepare for extensive upgrades to the software that integrates the various areas of our Warehouse Management System (WMS) in Eudora.  These enhancements, which were completed in early 2005, required expenditures totaling over $4 million.  We consider this significant investment of financial resources, time, planning and effort imperative in allowing us to remain solidly positioned at the forefront of technology, as we have been for so many years.

Ship It Here, There or Everywhere!
Our broad Customer base dictates that we have the ability to fulfill very diverse shipping requirements.  Superior has proven expertise in logistical solutions to any type of distribution challenge.   Whether it is to one or 1,000 locations, we can handle it effortlessly.  We have extensive experience in multiple location shipments.  Our Eudora facility is easily able to accommodate direct-to-employee, direct-to-location or direct-to-distribution center shipments.  We can also bulk ship to distribution centers with individual packages labeled for the final destination location.  Within consolidated shipping cartons, orders can be packed by individual employee.

Once inventory is received, it is processed through our distribution center via our host computer system at our corporate offices in Seminole, Florida.  Inventory is stored in either the robotic warehouse or in our full case storage warehouse.  The distribution center utilizes an 8-aisle automated storage and retrieval system to quickly pull and store cases used for picking.  Boxes are pulled using robotic cranes and are then placed on conveyors that move them to a tilt tray sorter, where individual orders are picked.  The vision system used with the sorter tracks items to verify that they reach their designated destination.  After picking is completed, order accuracy is verified up to three times.  Orders are then moved to the shipping dock to be loaded on one of the many carriers that service our distribution center on a daily basis.

We currently service many national and international clients with hundreds, even thousands, of ship-to destinations.  Because we supply a variety of Customer locations around the globe, our personnel are thoroughly versed in the procedures of international shipping.  Our Traffic department is adept at working with Customs (both U.S. and foreign), processing all commercial paperwork, and exporting the documentation necessary to get our Customer’s orders to them as promptly as possible.  Depending upon the Customer’s requirements and preferences, we will ship direct to any location via regular or expedited delivery.  We will also utilize freight forwarders or work with any Customer-specified carrier.

Wrap It Up, Pack It Up
Many of our Customers have special requirements pertaining to how a particular garment is labeled, packaged and otherwise prepared for shipment packing.  These special requests can be addressed during manufacturing and/or distribution.  Examples include package inserts, retail tags, specialty labeling, poly bagging, etc.  Our sophisticated processes allow us the flexibility to accommodate virtually any special packaging request, or necessary changes to the same, upon the Customer’s request.

Our standard case pack is 16W x 24L x 11H; we can also case-pack per Customer’s instructions.  Shipments greater than 20 cases are palletized and shrink wrapped prior to shipping.  An address label is attached to each box and contains the Customer P.O. number, as well as the carton number, which corresponds to the packing slip.
